Site with 2500+ articles
Dear community,
I have to built a website for a journalist who wants to publish his 2500+ articles. I know that TXP is able to handle this amount technically (yes, I’ve read the faq), but I am not sure how user friendly this would be. That’s why I can’t decide wether to use TXP or Typo3. I tend to use TXP because of it’s more intuitive to handle.
Are there any plugins or hacks for the admin interface, so that the user can choose to only view articles e.g. from a specific category by using a drop down menu? Are there any other possibilities to make the “articles” tab fit a bigger site?
Thanks,

well, in the articles tab at the top of the article listing is a search dropdown menu that allows you to sort/display whatever you want (either through section / categories / status / author etc)

Yes, i know. But what I think would be more comfortable is something like a drop down menu that shows the categories, so the user won’t have to type the name of the category into the search field.

Re: Site with 2500+ articles
kind of a workaround for the problem, but i’m using asy_dashboard to welcome the editor and present him a list of “useful links”. there, for example i’m linking to the article tab with the search query already in the url… a screenshot might explain it better:
the “projekte” are in this case articles published in different sections. this way all articles within a certain section or category are just one click away. i know, it’s a workaround but it works quite well. in addition: if you have 2500 articles on a site and have to edit them frequently, than you’ll need the search all the time anyways… but i wouldn’t regard that as a problem.

Thanks sthmtc, this looks quite interesting.

Hm, yes, I guess you’re right.
