1and1 hosting

I’ve got a client who’d like to know if 1and1 is going to work for them.
Anybody have any suggestions/experiences that might help me know what to think?

Matthew

Re: 1and1 hosting

Yeah…..it’ll work.

I would advise against it, but it’ll work.

Re: 1and1 hosting

Hey Walker,
:)

Can you be a bit more specific? What areas have you had trouble (other than mod_rewrite which I noted as a concern in the FAQs)

Thx

Re: 1and1 hosting

They’re shared servers and have bad neighbors (like any other shared server system).
I am alright with their management panel. It’s okay, but not great. (and definitely not as nice as Mosso or Mediatemple’s GS)

I was mostly just really really annoyed with htaccess problems. I don’t have much more feedback for ya. Let them go ahead with it if they’re set.
