problem with excerpt

The FAQ says to do the following for an excerpt with a “read more” link.

<txp:excerpt />
<txp:permlink>read more..</txp:permlink>

However a p tag is wrapping the excerpt, meaning that the read more link is following on a different paragraph. For this particular page I do not want that.

How to get rid of the paragraph that seems to automatically wrap the excerpt?

I think this is not possible by default. You will have to use this plugin.

On the “Write” tab in the left column you can tell TXP not to textile the excerpt, just leave it alone. You can then add the “p” tags or whatever you want to the form template you are using.
