Is there a way to output an image's Caption without using a plug in?

In the txp image section there is a field to put in a caption. Is there a way to output the caption with the image?

No, not without altering the source code.

What is the point of the caption field then?

It’s meant for tags that don’t yet exist in the current TXP versions, but plugins already make use of it as pointed out above. You can also use some raw PHP between <txp:php>...</txp:php> tags to use the caption field.

I’d recommend that as well. The problem with improving the image tag in the core IMHO is in losing the current flexibilty with out pleasing all concerned. Plugins work well in that respect.

Fortunately I don’t really need the functionality of captions often but it is nice to have the option. I’ll look into upm_image.

At present the caption is output as the image’s title (toopltip), so it isn’t unused, just not in the way desired (plain text).
