many subdomains as sections with non-TXP root?
Hi everyone… I am trying to do the following:
I want my root domain to display a few links,
one link i would like to shoot people off to a TXP subdomain, from there i would like them to be able to navigate to other subdomains that are actually different sections, etc… I want the main TXP page/subdomain we’ll call “main” for now, to display all articles from all other TXP sections/subdomains…
I am new to TXP and not a very apt PHP programmer, i’ve traditionally built sites by hand with XHTML and CSS etc…
I am running on a Linux/Godaddy server, and I have TXP up and running now, but only as root… I can make as many subdomains as I want with whatever real path i want…
Now, failing,
the ability to have a non-TXP root XHTML page, i would still ike to have many subdomains/sections (one for photos, one for news, etc…) which allow their newest articles to be viewalbe at the “main” TXP page… is all this possible?
Now I have looked at this post so please don’t simply direct me there, unless there is nothing else you can offer me, I have read all pages of that post and I’m still unsure about this… I hope I am being clear, I will gladly clarify of course….
So just once more…
Desire: Sections that are subdomains with their own appearance, while all new articles are available on a main “archive” type section that acts as a front-page/hub…. (of course once i have a viewer base people may just nav to sub.domain.com etc. for their flavor of my service)…
Thank you to anyone who responds to me…
(p.s. I am trying TXP for the first time, I have a Drupal site up for another project)

Re: many subdomains as sections with non-TXP root?
I was planning to have a site similar to what you are trying to do also, hopefully there would be some answers soon.

ied_if_domain might be of help (you can also use one of the many rss parsing plugins to present links from the different domains)

And I’m hoping that gbp_permalink will once be able to do that.
