Missing help file?
Finally i decided to try out Textpattern.
I just have it installed and find out there is a missing help file, if it’s not left out with specific purposes.
At Preference—>Basic—>Automatically append comments to articles?
The “?” link would only bring me to a page with “Sorry The help doc you requested does not exist. If you got here via a link from the Textpattern interface, this means it has not yet been created.”
Time to explore further….

Re: Missing help file?
the server that serves the help files has been having some issues lately.
that being said, “Automatically append comments to articles” basically means just that. Choosing yes means your articles will automatically have its associated comments appended to it :)

Re: Missing help file?
Thanks for pointing out. I guess i just have the default for those options that i am not sure about.
Do you happened to know if there is any benefit of not having the comments append to articles? Well, maybe i should have read the Textbook….

Well, then you can use Textpattern as more a commercial-site’s CMS, not so a bloggish, and afterall then you can place comments by yourself anywhere, with <txp:output_form />
you wan’t and they won’t appear twice. Cood thing if your using Textpattern to produce something else than journal – like a forum, gallery, linksite or simple infopage. Someones just don’t like or need comments, that’s all.
Cheers!

There is also quite a lot about comments and whether automatically append them or not in the FAQ.
