How to get search results
I hate to even have to ask this question…but after googling the crap out of this topic I am not able to get a working version of search results. Here is where I am at:
1. I built the css framework for my site. I ‘ve got the front end up along with a customized article page.
2. On the front end, I have a search box. I used the following tag to create it:
<div id=“search”>
<txp:search_input section=“search” button=“Find” />
</div>
3. I also create a custom section page template to display the results. The section name is “search” and the page template name is “searchresults”. I’ve associated the search section with searchresults template and a defaul CSS.
The searchresults template is pretty bare bones so that I can get this started:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd”> <head> <html xmlns=“http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml” xml:lang=“en”> <head profile=“http://gmpg.org/xfn/1”> <meta http-equiv=“content-type” content=“text/html; charset=utf-8” /> <meta name=“author” content=“textpattern” /> <meta name=“rating” content=“General” /> <meta name=“generator” content=“TextPattern” /> <meta name=“revisit-after” content=“14 days” /> <link rel=“stylesheet” href=”<txp:css />” type=“text/css” media=“screen” /> </head><body> <txp:article /> </body>Other misc: Admin preferences:
Production status = Live
Permanant Link =messy
Results: After typing in a key word (one that I know is in various articles) and hit the send button, nothing happens. the same page refreshes and no results are displayed. It does not pull up my custom page or anything.
Am i crazy or missing something? Any ideas?
