Stop Upload Image from creating a Thumbnail?

Is it possible to stop the Upload Image process from creating a thumbnail of my uploaded image?

I recently created a new TXP install and realised by default, uploading an image will not create a thumbnail.

However, if you enter any values into this field and hit Create you are forever more stuck with having to delete any unwanted uploaded images thumbnails.

Any ideas on how to stop the Upload Image process from creating this thumbnail by default? I have no need for them and have to manually delete it everytime I upload an image.

Assuming you have TXP version 4.0.5 -> go to the advanced preferences (admin -> preferences -> advanced) and empty the thumbnail width/height settings (thumb_w, thumb_h)

ruud, I do have 4.0.5, but I do not see those options in the Advanced Preferences. That is the first place I looked.

Any idea why I wouldn’t be seeing those options?

If you know how to use PHPmyadmin, can you check if these fields are present in the txp_prefs table?

I’ve just installed 4.0.5, and when I upload an image, I only have the option to upload a thumbnail, no option for txp to create one for me. Is this feature lost in 4.0.5?

No,

Version 4.0.5. also includes opinion to make thumbails automatically.

Is there txp_image-table and field thumbnail in database?
Have you installed any admin-side plugins?
What diagnostics says?

I don’t have any plugins installed, not sure how to check tables/fields in the db, but my diagnostics says: GD Image Library: unavailable
Is that the problem?

Probably yes, because GD is used to transform images.

eek. what version of php are you running? GD has been part of php since version 4.3. if its a local server just double check to make sure your gd extension is enabled.

Yes, it is big problem. With out GD Image Library you cannot make thumbails. It have to be part of PHP and enabled.

Back to my original question, I found the values in the database, can I safely delete the rows thumb_w, thumb_h, & thumb_crop?
