4.0.5 upgrade weirdness
I recently upgraded from 4.0.3 to 4.0.5 and I’m getting these errors in my diagnostics:
Web Domain DNS lookup fails: www.thriftmac.com
Clean URL test failed.
I’ve studied the relevant FAQs, and it seems that the clean URL error is related to the Site URL in the preferences, but I can ‘t figure out how. Meanwhile, the clean URLs seem to be working fine in the site — as they have in the past.
Should I try to fix the errors, or just ignore them?

Can you post your (high) diagnostics here?
edit: I see your website is hosted on Textdrive. Might be related to this problem if DNS lookups in general are a problem at textdrive.
If your website works, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I tried the Joyent trick, and still get the same errors.
Here are the high diagnostics:
There is one little oddity in htaccess:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
I needed that to make the site viewable, as opposed to downloading a blank text file. It’s something I copied from the 4.0.3 installation.

If your local DNS can’t resolve your own domain name, then the clean url test will alway fail, so that’s not unusual. The real question here is: Why does the Web Domain DNS lookup fail. And that may be the same problem as the one I linked to (the solution doesn’t help, but the cause may be the same).
Not a problem really, as long as your visitors all have a working DNS ;)
