Textpattern wont load the diagnostics?

Hello,

Im currently developing a website, and will definitely use txp for the site. I dont have any server space at the moment for this new website, so im using my laptop.

I’ve installed XAMPP, and everything appears to be working ok! I’ve installed txp, set it all up and i can visit http://localhost/site and it’ll bring up the txp installation…

BUT!

Clicking on any of the posts will bring up page which says:

@Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error. @

So i logged onto txp admin, and tried getting into diagnostics, and it just doens’t appear to work =\

I’ve run many txp installations off of my XAMPP which is installed on my pendrive, and had no probs, so whats gone on here?

Does anyone have any idea why? has something gone wrong somewhere?

Re: Textpattern wont load the diagnostics?

Try to remove the hash in front of the Options +FollowSymLinks and RewriteBase entries in .htaccess, and enter a correct base path there (this path is taken relative to the web root, e.g. /site according to your example).

wet, thanks for your help, but unfortunatly, it didn’t work :(

Would it have anything to do with the vista UAC (or whatever its’ called?)?

Re: Textpattern wont load the diagnostics?

I wouldn’t think so. Are there any notable entries in Apache’s error log file? This log is typically written into C:\Program Files\xampp\apache\logs for a default XAMPP installation.

Re: Textpattern wont load the diagnostics?

wet, this is the only thing i could find

[Sun Aug 12 09:02:54 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: C:/xampp/htdocs/anh/article, referer: http://localhost/anh/

Further to this, whilst setting up txp originally, in the preferences, permenant lnks was set to ?=messy, which im sure, is usually different?

…and it just doens’t appear to work…

Detail please.

File does not exist: C:/xampp/htdocs/anh/article

FAQ: Clean URLs don’t work

…in the preferences, permenant lnks was set to ?=messy, which im sure, is usually different?

That’s right. You’d get links like ?id=2 and ?s=article, so the pref has been changed since.
