Problem with upgrade to TXP 4.0.5

hi,

since i upgraded my website (in french) to TXP 4.0.5 yesterday, i have lost the accents in the management section and all the messages generated by TXP (comments, etc.).
this is what i get as an instance :

‘Publi�, Masqu�, M�moriser les informations donn�es, etc.

as you can see, this looks terrible; all characters like ‘é à ù ç …’ don’t print anymore.

i do not manage to find out how to fix this issue; my config.php has :

$txpcfg['dbcharset'] = 'latin1';

my publish.php has :

//i18n: $textarray = load_lang('fr-fr');

both ‘English (Great Britain)’ and ‘Français’ are installed and are up to date; ‘Français’ is selected by default.

i looks like i am missing something.

Please delete the other 3 duplicate topics with the same content (there’s a delete link at the right bottom side of the opening post).

Sorry for the 3 duplicate topics; but i can’t see the ‘delete’ button at the right bottom side of the opening post.

I will try again; in the meantime, this is my high diagnostics :
(i have noticed that my ‘index.php’ is still the one by default in the downloaded ‘zip’ archive; on my other TXP website, i have a pretty much bigger ‘index.php’ file with language specifications.

Coult it be the problem ?

Was it just TXP that was upgraded or also MySQL?

I have not upgraded MySQL.

If you want, you can have a look at http://mumuksu.com.
Click on ‘carnet de visites’ (guestbook); you will see how it comes out.

In fact, articles print well since i changed ‘uft8’ into ‘latin1’ in ‘config.php’; but since then, the admin part of TXP and all messages generated by modules,… comes out without the accents.

That’s the problem: your languages were loaded into the database using one charset, then the charset to use was changed.

This can be resolved fairly easily. Run the following query:

TRUNCATE txp_lang;

Then re-install all the languages you need in your Language preferences.

You can run the query using something like phpMyAdmin or rss_admin_db_manager.

I run the query with phpMyAdmin as you suggested and re-installed the languages this morning, and it solved the problem.
