[solved] DTD HTML 4.01 (strict)
So,
Any easy way to have TXP output HTML 4.01 stict code?
I recently decided to make the switch back to the HTML coding standards (vs. XHTML.)
If there is no easy way, I do not mind using the self-closing tags (among others), but I have learned that XHTML is not so pro when you are serving it as TEXT/HTML.
I am not the best to defend and/or convice others of this, but from what I have read/heard, HTML 4.01 strict dtd is better.

Ah, this is minor then I guess… But it looks like the, for example, XML tags generate XHTML self closing tags.
I would assume there are other TXP generated tags that generate non-valid HTML 4.01 strict code… But not a big deal. Just thought I would ask.

Checkout my plugin. You do need to include your own DTD though.

ohh!! i think i mistakenly read what you were looking for..
though tbh sending xhtml 1.0 strict as text/html shouldn’t be an issue unless your xhtml isn’t actually valid :) (due to the fact that once we all start sending as xml, most faux-type xhtml sites would probably break!)
edit: didnt see the post above while i was replying. that plugin above would probably be a better idea than core hack in my link

Thanks for the extra info iblastoff… I really do prefer XHTML coding standards… That is what I first learned. I just thought it would be fun to try to change things up… Also, I know an HTML guru that is totally against XHTML (when served as text/html) so I thought I would try to get on his good side when it comes to my latest textpattern project! :D
