Help! On login all I get now is a blank page!
Hi,
I could really do with some feedback on this one.
After months of not having logged into textpattern I’ve just tried and upon sucessful login I’m greeted with nothing more than a blank page.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how to diagnose this?

did you check your database via phpMyAdmin?

Yes, the database is fine. The front end is all running ok. It’s just the back end admin interface which doesn’t appear.
Is there somewhere atleast where it could be outputting an error message so I know what’s going on?

did you recently update the site from 404 to 405? Are all files uploaded properly?

No, there were no updates, the only people that had access to it while I was not touching it was the client but I only gave them staff writer privileges so surely they couldn’t have done any accidental upgrades, nor damage with that role no?
So there is no logs within textpattern that I could look at that would give me any clue?

The front end url is this:

however everything appears fine here. It’s only when I log into the textpattern CMS that I get a completely blank page (view source = nada).

In your browser, clear all the cookies set by textpattern (domain odc.co.com), then log in again… does the cookie re-appear. That at least tells you if something is returned after the login attempt (choose to stay logged in).
You can also have a look at the webserver logfiles to see what response was given to the POST request that is the login attempt (status + size of the response).

OK, I’ve cleared all cookies and when I log in I still get cookies coming back. Three cookies:
PHPSESSID
testcookie
txp_login
With regards to the logs, I’m with mediatemple and I can download the logs but it looks like the last access it displays was over an hour a go. Maybe it just displays them for download every couple of hours?
Any other tests that I can do to help me sort this?

Hmmm, interestingly I get the diagnostics page and it appears fine.
I can navigate to just about everything except for what appears in the ‘content’ tab where I just get a blank page again.
Any idea what this means?
Also, I’ve got this in the Pre-flight check:
Some Textpattern files have been modified: /lib/txplib_db.php
clean_url_data_failed:
Does this tell anything that can be of help?

At the very least it tells me that one of the files was modified.
What plugins are installed: http://www.odc.co.om/textpattern/index.php?event=plugin
If possible, just upgrade to TXP 4.0.5 and see what happens (make backups first).
