Re: [archived] Postmaster -- A simple email-on-post / newsletter manager

OK, a couple of quickies:

  • Are you subscribing a unique email address? If you try to subscribe the email address that’s already in there, it will not happen.
  • What version of zem_contact_reborn are you using?

It sounds like really everything is working OK, there’s just this one weird glitch in the middle. Maybe one of the questions above will provide our answer.

I use a unique address. In fact, I’ve tried several different ones at this point.

What version of zem_contact_reborn are you using?

4.0.3.19, which seems to be the latest version, accordings to this thread

Sorry, :-) – I’d appreciate if we got this to work. Without the automatic subscription, the newsletter will be hard to manage.

Halleluja! It did. It was the problem with gbp_permanent_links. Installing v0.11.617 solved it.

Thanks very much for your help, Ben!

Re: [archived] Postmaster -- A simple email-on-post / newsletter manager

Hi there – me again :-(

By now, the subscription mechanism works fine, I’ve got my two lists set up and have added a test subscriber to each one.

I had a strange problem when I ran test mailings for each list.

The first list (which is selected by default) sends out mailings to all subscribers, no matter which list they are subscribed to. It also ignores my mailing form and uses some kind of default form instead which looks like this:

Kal has posted a new article at http://www[...]
Read article at: http://www.[...]/index.php?id=62
Unsubscribe:

The strange thing is that when I email the same article to the other list, everything works fine.

I have checked the details of each list’s entry and couldn’t find any difference between them except the subject line and the name of the form to use.

Ben, any ideas?

Re: [archived] Postmaster -- A simple email-on-post / newsletter manager

andreas,

Quick question: Have you associated your form with your list (in the EXTENSIONS > POSTMASTER > LISTS > EDIT screen)? The form that it’s using is the default form, which should only appear if you don’t specify an alternative.

I have (and double-ckecked). The other thing is, that it sends the emails to every subscriber in the DB table – so there must be another problem.

Re: [archived] Postmaster -- A simple email-on-post / newsletter manager

Hey Ben,

This is such an excellent plugin – thanks again for all your time and effort…

One quick question: I’m sending out plain text emails using the <txp:bab_pm_data display=“body_html” strip_html=“yes” /> code.
It’s working fine, except that the plain text version in the email is putting a tab space at the start of every paragraph.
This is looking a bit strange in some articles, so is there a way to kill those inserted tabs?

Thanks!

Re: [archived] Postmaster -- A simple email-on-post / newsletter manager

While I’m at it Ben… ;-)

I’m also getting the:
Notice: error_article_context in /home/.akasha/swac/fnc.swac.org.au/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php on line 1887
error on some articles. It’s printed twice in a couple of cases.

The emails appear to go out OK, so I’m not all that worried.
The form used to display articles does use a ‘more…’ link if they have an excerpt, so it might well be the same thing reported earlier, but I’m not sure then why I get the error printed to screen twice…

Any thoughts?

Cheers
