Clean category urls not working...
This is probably a dumb question, but my computer is on the fritz and I’m a bit frazzled.
I am using this in a form to create a list of categories.
<txp:category_list parent=“gallery” active_class=“menu-list-active” break=”</li><li>” class=“menu-list” section=“gallery” exclude=“gallery” type=“article” />
The list looks good, but the links produced do not work. They look like this:
http://www.mysite.com/category/new-work/
When I click, I expect to be taken to the list of articles for this category, but…. nothing happens.
I hope this is something really simple. Sorry to bug the forum with it, but if someone could just give me a little kick before I waste hours on this… it would be much appreciated.

Re: Clean category urls not working...
Category listings depend upon using your default page, they need an article tag. If you’re not otherwise using an article tag on your front page, make use of if_category.

Re: Clean category urls not working...
Mary, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me. But I don’t understand your answer. I do use an article tag in the content div, the problem is the links generated by the category list tag, used to navigate to other categories.
I would like for the clean url’s for the categories to work. The other sites I have done, they work off the bat, so I am scratching my head on this one. Right now I am using messy /c=mycategory url’s, because they are the only ones that work, but I want something more search friendly.

Re: Clean category urls not working...
Would you, using clean URLs, post a full tag trace of any existing category page URL (such as http://www.mysite.com/category/new-work/)?

Will do this tomorrow, Mary. I have to run now, but thank you so much for being so available and answering so quickly.

Mary, I got it figured out. Phew! I had the if_category tag nested inside an if_section tag. I moved it out, and everything is working great now. Your original answer to me was the ticket, but I didn’t understand it until now. Amazing what a good night’s sleep will do. Many thanks.
