"Automatically append comments" preference is missing!
Help! I need to turn off this preference, but I can’t find it! What might I have done to make it go away? And how do I get it back? Comments are on for this site, and other comment preferences are there, but this crucial one is not.

update: I went in with phpMyAdmin and set AutoAppendComments (something like that) value to 0 from 1, and those pesky comment divs are still showing up.
