Suitable for a project of this size?
Sorry for all my questions as of late — I’ve been using this as fast as possible to see what it’s capable of without extra modification.
Anyways, if you would, please take a look at this site: http://www.meetyourmakers.com (it’s the only one off the top of my head that has a huge community with these features)… it has hundreds of different content sections (which TXP can obviously easily handle), but then each member has his/her own gallery, blog and other features. On top of all that, there is quite a bit more.
My question is, would this site be something you’d want to use TXP for? Or is there something else more suitable?
As I’m not a developer, I’d really appreciate your experienced guidance on this. If there’s something that is more better suited for a project of that size, I’d much rather spend time with it than learning this (also keep in mind I won’t be the one developing it, clearly… I’m trying to find the best options to present to the developers — who don’t want to build it from the ground up).
Thanks again.

Yea, I thought some would say Drupal. Could you give your opinion on Joomla?

DRUPAL is a BEAR … does allot … does what you want … steep learning curve … slow as molasseses … but definitely does what you need it to…
There is a “MODULE” for almost anything you want to do … but beware … it’s user contributed but no where near as reliable as something you find here… but there a few key ones that is alsmost a must.
Never used Joomla…

OH yeah … if you can work with the default templates with design tweaks… (via css and graphics) Drupal becomes less painful to work with …
Since you are not a developer … if you have design flexibility it could be ok …

Re: Suitable for a project of this size?
I’ll have two PHP gurus working with me, so I won’t be taking care of that. I manage the projects on top of being the designer, so I wanted to get some input on what you guys thought.
Both of the developers said Joomla sucks, ExpressionEngine doesn’t allow users to have their own features (licenseing thing) and Typo3 is a heap of shit. So I guess Drupal it is.
