The difference is partly caused by our distinguished approach on update frequency.

Digg users don’t like textpattern?
Meh.
The difference is partly caused…
The rest is Textpattern doesn’t have a mass of true themes and a quick-setup, pre-installed “blog” (the default template). You have to actually do something before you can use it. Many people that use WordPress are often converts from services such as Blogger. And WordPress has their own such service now as well.

i agree with mary and attribute it to the fact that wordpress has easier theme installation and free ‘wordpress’ blog hosting as well. aka things that designers/developers dont care about.
this is a bit interesting as well though.. . according to google trends txp seemed to hit a peak in early 2005 and then shows a steady decline :(

maybe a ‘dig this’ link should be included in txp home page… that would probably boost our ratings:)

if more people use textpattern will it not benefit its development?
perhaps we should help out by submitting any news / articles/ blog posts about textpattern. Starting from ones listed on the Mentions page – http://textpattern.com/mentions

I love this community but more adoption could boost development and make it even more rock solid than it already is. I don’t care what society on a whole thinks but there is something to be said about approval. I discovered txP through either drew or jon … both great and they both aren’t happy with the state of affairs…
Drupal … god that is a behemoth and confusing … but people are using it and contributing to the community… won’t that make it better?
