Best way to produce avatars to TXPhorum?
I’m using/developing the TXPhorum-forumplugin to be more operational. That’s for one Finnish upcoming webmagazine-site. I thought TXPhorum would be good workaround and forumsolution for that a mid-sized site. I have already implented the TXPhorum with many functions, like full-optional quoting, and other.
So next step would be avatars, but it shows to be a little complex. So, what would be a good base to make avatar-uploader and so-on? Some plugin or a another?

Re: Best way to produce avatars to TXPhorum?
Gocom,
I played around a little bit with Gravatars, which took care of all the uploading images and everything. Then I just inserted the code for the Gravatars into TXPhorum as a custom field or something1.
Second part — Are you going to release your changes to the world? If you can put together a package, I’ll put it up on the site so others can benefit from your work.
Third, can this move over to the support thread?
- Ben
1 For profiles, my thinking was that when someone signs up for an account, a TXP article is created in section, “profiles” or whatever. Then they can update their profile on a special page, and that gives you room for whatever custom info you want, plus an article_image field, etc.

Yep, I continue this to the support threard if I come up with something new to ask or something other. But now, when I started writing this reply… I shall continue with couple words:
Yes, I think I can put together a package that others can use – in upcoming months. Now I’m little busy and all work with TXPhorum is quite incomplete. All what I have done is really basic changes: Couple codestrings and ideas from BBCode, MiniBB (and other forumsoftwares) – and so-on.
Using Gravatars for a avatar-system sounds simple. I’m coing to look into it, thx :-)
