Why I can't upload Files?

Why I can’t Upload files on my TxP server? I use Windows 2000 for my server. Every time I try to upload I get this problem. This problem happen on my Windows Vista too :(

Warning: cannot write to file directory
E:\htdocs\2_Office\myweb.txp\files.
Please change file permissions to 777.
No files recorded.

Please help how to fix it?

Change permisson (CHMOD) of *files*-folder (E:\htdocs\2_Office\myweb.txp\files) to 777. Whitout it, you can’t write to that folder via Textpattern. Your question kinda answered itself…

Move your cursor to the files directory, right click, go to properties, and uncheck the read-only option

And if the folder isn’t actually there… that’d be the problem right there. :)

I was try to properties then uncheck the read-only option, but after click OK, and re check the properties again, my read-only option still checked. :(

I am confused with is. So what wrong?
I try it both on Windows Vista and Windows 2000 Server.

Please give me solutions for my problem,

it’s happen on manage files, but on upload images, the problem doesn’t show. my upload images in TxP running good.

I just remembered: that option will always be checked on Windows (Windows Explorer uses the Read-Only attribute to determine whether or not the folder is customized – I know, pretty dumb), and it’s not the problem (it’s not really read-only in the sense we care about here). I run Txp on Windows myself, and have no problems with file uploads.

So you only get the problem when uploading files, and you get the message once you actually try and upload, but no warning before that?

everytime I go to files admin get this problem
but when go to images admin the problem doesn’t show up.

You say always enable on windows.
How to do that?

Okay. And what happens if you try to actually upload a file? What error message(s) do you get?

I can’t do UPLOADING because restricted by that messages.
