r2487 - extra error tags being added.
First I should appologise for not reporting this one earlier but I’ve either been too busy at the time or just plum forgotten about it. Having said that means that it is not specific to my current revision and I am aware that it has been happening for more than 4 months. :(
Anyway, in my comment_form form I start with an h3 tag followed by the comments_error tag like so:-
<h3 id="commentFormTitle">Leave your comment</h3>
<txp:comments_error wraptag="ul" break="li" />
then my actual form follows.
From time to time I notice that a new error tag has been added to the form at the top like so:-
<txp:comments_error wraptag="ul" break="li" />
<h3 id="commentFormTitle">Leave your comment</h3>
<txp:comments_error wraptag="ul" break="li" />
and on some occasions I have found 2 of them like so:-
<txp:comments_error wraptag="ul" break="li" />
<txp:comments_error wraptag="ul" break="li" />
<h3 id="commentFormTitle">Leave your comment</h3>
<txp:comments_error wraptag="ul" break="li" />
Now I know I didn’t put them there so they must be being injected somehow. I’ve tried reproducing it by deliberately throwing errors on the actual web page without success. I’m now wondering if maybe it happens when I upgrade to a newer revision. Next time I do I shall make a point of checking. Any ideas?

It’s added in the update script. Though that update script shouldn’t run for you anymore. given that it checks the version number before an include (and the mtime for the most current version when using svn-versions). If you’re going to look for a big (there might be one), that’s the place to look.

Ah! I use svn but download it to my PC then upload via FTP. I used to make a point of writing down the list of updated files and only uploading those but more recently I’ve simply uploaded all the files whether updated or not. Might that be the problem?
