Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector
Hm all the URLs for this plugin are dead… and the website “feedback” doesn’t appear to do anything, so I hope he reads this…

You can obtain it from Lost Plugins

ah thanks. that’s a nice website to have.
I have some weird problems with this plugin though. the first thing is, 3 times I pasted the code into the “Install plugin” box, and straight after I did that (before I could hit “Upload”) my computer would freeze and screen display would get ruined, with a message about the “ialmrnt5 display driver”. the first two times I freaked out and rebooted my computer and it came back ok, the third time I figured out I could still press “Upload” and install the plugin and then reboot.
(I did a search and two other people who reported this problem were, at the time, trying to install “Sims 2”…!)
(in case it’s relevant to anyone, this error was in Windows XP SP2 on a NEC VERSA S940. some more specifics:
Video Adapter
Model : Intel® 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller
VGA Compatible : No
Total Memory : 57MB (57MB Video)
Texture Memory : 57MB
Current Video Mode
Mode : 1280×768 16M+ TrueColour (32-bit)
Current Refresh Rate : 60Hz
Virtual Desktop Size : 1280×768
Video Driver
Model : ialmnt5.sys
Version : 6.14.10.3762
…
ok so I finally got it going. and I enabled the advanced preferences. although I can’t tell what they actually do, and the website that the Help refers to doesn’t have any of the pages where they should be, so that’s no help.
Under the Content>Write tab, for some reason it only showed 4 images. I have tons more that I imported using fpx_image_import and I’m guessing there is some conflict here, because when I change the “Sort by” field to “A->z”, I get this error:
Warning: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '\"' at line 1 SELECT * FROM txp_image WHERE category = ""ORDER BY name ASC\" in /home/.bodeer/briannalaugher/brunsbug.dreamhosters.com/staticphotog/textpattern/lib/txplib_db.php on line 84
is empty.
And quite weirdly, all the other “sort by” options work fine! (although they all only show these 4 images)
The imported images all show up fine in the Images tab, and I have used them successfully in articles just the same as the 4 I manually entered, so I don’t know what that problem could be.
I think it’s a sign… I’m not supposed to install this plugin!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector
any possibility of an update?
addendum after checking a few things out:
bas_img_selector .71 seems to work just fine for one of my txp 4.0.5 installations. on a separate server though, i get that “category is empty” error running txp 4.0.5 as well. both are running fresh installs with no other plugins installed.
the odd thing is, if i DONT assign an image a category, then that image shows up in bas_img_selector and i can see it and its thumbnail etc etc. once an image is assigned a category though, it disappears from bas’s interface. and bas_img_selector doesnt see any categories at all.
so its not a txp issue, but seems like server side issue somehow? something to do with not being able to pull the category names properly? this is very odd

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector
Hi. I’m thinking about adopting the development of this plugin (I also find it very useful) since it seems abandoned.
I already have the problem of the empty category list located but I still have no solution for it (It looks like the database link is not available where the list is filled).
In the meantime I have a quick patch where you can easily specify the categories in the plugin code: bas_img_selector_v0.71-p1
Install the patched plugin and just indicate the names of your image categories in the second line of the plugin.
Hope this helps. I’m still working in a proper solution but I’m short in time.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector
You are welcome, ibastoff.
And now, here it is bas_img_selector_v0.71-p2, a working version that obtain the categories from the db.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector
Sorry folks, but i had a kind of vacation plus i have no internet at the moment:(
This plugin seems to be abandoned, but nothing is as it seems :)
In fact i have done a version 0.8 in jquery and for txp 4.0.4 and 4.0.5
My page will be under construction a least for two weeks and i can`t release the 0.8 before…
What should we do now?
