Creating a site with TextPattern from a Photoshop Mockup?
The website I am working on I designed in photoshop and have now finished developing the basic structure of the site including header, navigation, sidebar, sidebar 2nd level navigation, content region, and footer. The site is completely built on <div> tags with CSS and includes some PHP and JavaScripting but primarily to run the navigation. Now I am at a point where I am ready begin plugging in the content to the site. I am looking for a solution that will help myself and the client manage the content of the site. Can TextPattern be the solution I am looking for? I want to be able to modify and format/style text on pages as well as be able to upload photos, add links, etc. Can I plug TextPattern into the existing framework I have built and use it as a content management system?
edit: One last thing I wanted to mention……does TextPattern work with MySQL?

Definitely. This is exactly the process I use when I do sites. Getting ready for the concept of articles and forms is your next step.

Concept of Articles and Forms? Can you explain what you mean?
The site I am developing is a pretty big site that includes content that will be pretty static on some pages but dynamic and being updated regularly on other pages. Things like Latest News articles, Coming events, etc. As well as having documents such as press releases and white papers that will need to be posted to pages from time to time. All this still sound do-able?

Sure. The limiting factor wouldn’t be the amount of content or the width of topics, but the workflow. Textpattern manages text snippets like news and events quite well, while other and more expensive/complex systems have advantages when it comes to roles/permissions, media libraries or “what you see is what you get”.
