Upgraded, now I can not login.

Just kinda frustrated here… I read the instructions on the home page:

* Replace the two files in your main installation directory (index.php and .htaccess) and everything in your /textpattern/ directory (except config.php) with the corresponding files in this distribution. * When you login to the admin side, the relevant upgrade script is run automatically. Please take a look at your Diagnostics to view any errors and whether the correct version number is displayed.

I did exactly that, and now I can not login.

Is this something I missed?

I found the KB article on how to reset passwords, but I have to now install PHPmyAdmin… I hope that does not take too long.

How can I avoid this in the future?

try being a bit more specific. what are you seeing when trying to login? user/password error or php warnings or what? is your config.php still there?

Re: Upgraded, now I can not login.

Upgrading usually has no effect on logins. It’s possibly a cookie problem.

Can you give us the specific mysql-version (all three numbers) that you are using, and when and which version of textpattern you initially installed.

Re: Upgraded, now I can not login.

Hi, sorry iBlastoff, I should have been more specific.

I just see the login page, and I get no PHP errors or warnings… Just looks like my password/username is not being accepted. Same goes for other accounts that I setup.

My config file is still there… Looks like all the settings are correct for that file.

Not a big deal I guess… I am in the process of installing PHPmyAdmin. I figure I did something wrong here… Either way, good experience to install PHPmyAdmin.

But yeah, I just see a normal login page… My username/passwords are not being accepted.

Thanks for help. :)

Re: Upgraded, now I can not login.

Hi Sencer, thanks for your help. :)

I really appreciate it.

Client API version: 5.0.41

I upgraded from 4.0.4 (That was the last stable version available, no?) to 4.0.5

I am sure I just did something wrong here.

Re: Upgraded, now I can not login.

I was able to install phpmyadmin and change password

I should have also mentioned:

I re-uploaded the textpattern/setup/ folder on accident… Also, my site is only accessible via an IP address (I have yet to point the domain at the host.) Not sure if that would make a difference.

Either way, I have reset the admin password… I am sure I just did something wrong. Thanks for the help all!

Cheers,
Micky
