New HTML5 tags and attributes. What do you think?
I hope the new article tag doesn’t confuse new TXP users ;-)

I like some of the new elements, but I’m not a fan of nav. It makes more sense to bring back menu from HTML than to create nav. Plus, given header and footer are spelled out, nav doesn’t fit in. For the a element, I don’t like the rekindled target attribute, or the href-less “placeholder.” A lot of the elements and attributes are presentational, which I thought would disappear by now – that’s why I like some of XHTML2 better.
For JavaScript, I’m glad getElementsByClassName made it into the spec. It’s about time!

There are a lot of people on the working group that still think presentational, but manage to talk other people to their point of view with other points. And some of these points are quite valid in fact. Some attributes/tags appear presentational, but in fact are not really.
However it’s a work in progress, with a lot of inputs from everywhere. It will take time, sweat and blood before we can put something more mature together.

What i will definitely miss is the noscript which is invaluable as it can present alternative content to the browsers working without js.
