[request] del.icio.us daily posting
Any one working on a plugin that creates a post with the current day’s del.icio.us links on it, like <a href=“http://www.veen.com/jeff/archives/000424.html”>the one Veen developed</a> for MT or this <a href=http://nozell.com/blog/archives/2004/09/17/yet-another-dailydelicious-hack-for-wordpress/”>plugin in for Wordpress</a>?

Not per day, per se. Incase you were unaware. We could always nag greenrift to add some sort of day function.

I was able to get this to work!
Setup: Go to http://del.icio.us/settings/youraccount/daily, and click on “add a new thingy”.
Here’s the settings that are working for me:
job_name: whatever makes sense :) —mine is “Textpattern”
out_name: I created a new account, just for del.icio.us blog posting, and gave it Freelancer status, meaning this login can only post articles. The display name for this Textpattern account is “Carla @ del.icio.us”.
out_pass: password for the above Textpattern account
out_url: http://www.yourdomain.com/yourtextpatterndirectory/xmlrpcs.php (source for this mod: textpattern.org/mods/225/xrt)
out_time: My understanding is that this setting is GMT time, only as a digit. When I set mine to 0, the post was published at 21:00 EST.
out_blog_id: This is the number name of the Textpattern section for these posts.
out_cat_id: This is the number of the category under which you wish to post.
For both of these this id number-s-, just hover your mouse over the desired -section/-category, and the correct number will be the end of the tooltipped URI.
the outputted CSS, for styling:
ul class = delicious
div classes = delicious-link, delicious-tags, delicious-extended
Hope this helps someone!
edit: after playing with my configuration, I discovered that Textpattern prefers the actual short name of the section, rather than its numerical ID. Sorry about that.
Also, just as an aside, if you set up a Freelancer account exactly the way I did, you will have to approve posts, since they will come through as Pending.

Still, I am waiting for a daily link posting-plug-in…
After getting a cold shower because there is no plug-in that can do a daily link posting with del.icio.us links, I took a look at TXP genuine link administration and realised that it is really not usefull when you want to have something similar to del.icio.us…
Maybe the worst thing is that you cannot search your links and you cannot tag them…
Anyway. Maybe we can have a txp.icio.us-update in the next weeks. Man that would be great!

It is no longer possible to use Carla’s method, as the files necessary to implement the solution are no longer available since the creation of XML-RPC for textpattern. Unless I’m missing something, the del.icio.us thingy barfs no matter what the out_url is (I’ve tried http://mysite.com/rpc/, http://mysite.com/rpc/index.php, and http://mysite.com/rpc/TXP_RPCServer.php). Sad.

Any news on this?
I am also playing around with the d.i.u. daily thingy in combination with the official XML-RPC package for TXP but have no success so far :-(
I would love to use my d.i.u. links, tags and notes as a kind of automatic mini blog or sideblog.
