This may not be best practice but the way I have done my navigation at 01010 may be what you are looking for. Whenever you write an article choose ‘nav’ category and it will be added to the navigation or ‘list’ if you don’t, and you just see the relevant articles in that section.
It uses Johan Nilsson’s glx_h1_current plugin to indicate active article. If it looks like it might suit you, there’s a template you can download
