[request] most popular articles
I have been racking my brains trying to figure this out. I want to list the most popular articles in the side column, I tested all the plugins such as hpw popular but to no avail none of them work in the new version. Any help on the matter is GREATLY appreciated!

Don’t know, but I’m interested too.
Perhaps you should start a “plugin request” for someone to adopt this plugin?

What do you mean by none of them work in the new version ? You installed them, and then what …? Any errors/warnings/etc ?

I’am not a programmer or developer of the plugin, but if you want any help, you always must provide/cite errors|warnings that can help to locate problems.

I’ve had a look through bit_article_hitlist, but cannot see why 4.0.4 kills it. This is something I need also.

Plugins like that depend upon your Visitor Log; it uses the data there to decide what’s popular. Do you have entries in your log?

So if I understand you correctly Mary then, perhaps the reason the plug-ins didn’t work was because the site was brand new? Now that it has been running for several months, it has log files to reference. Therefor if I try the plug-ins now they should work?

Ops… I’ve missed this thread for a long, I suppose, ‘cause I actually have this working in my article pages (side column, above the banner), thank to an old plugin that seems to work just fine. Jas_popular_articles
Anyway, if someone want to improve this, it would be nice to filter the results by (multiple) sections and categories. But as it is for me is working.
