Changing article title and URL

My apologies if this has been discussed previously but I couldn’t find a reference.

I recently changed my mind about the title of an article I had just saved. While the new title is displayed fine on the page, unexpectedly the old title appears in the (clean) URL in the browser. Is this intended or a bug? Is theree a solution other than editing the SQL data directly to reflect the new title?

I have not yet moved the site in question to 4.0.4 so if it behaves “as expected” in the new version that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Hi NyteOwl.

In the “Write” tab, in “Advanced Options”, look for the URL input field.

Re: Changing article title and URL

If an article title is changed, the url-only-title remains as it was (which is not so bad if the article has existed for while). If you empty the field before saving, a new url-only-title will be generated.

Yes, it is intentional. :)

Re: Changing article title and URL

Ok, thanks for the info! I thought it might have been intentional as it was a bit obvious if it was an unfixed bug :)
