Moving blog location

Are there simple steps in moving a blog from one directory to another? I got it mostly done, but at the final step, it fails.

1. I moved the files
2. I changed the location of the blog in the Preferences tab and the Config.php

It works fine, but clicking on articles shows No File found.

What am I missing for that last step? Is it even possible?

Re: Moving blog location

it’s possible for sure

sounds like something simple; double-check your paths etc? what kind of URLs does permlink tag generate for your articles?

Re: Moving blog location

This TextBook article is about moving from subdirectory to root, but of course the same can be applied when moving from one directory to another.

Do you have any hardcoded links?

Seems like I did what that article said to do…but once I do that, clicking on an article just doesn’t work.

How does TP do the page URLs? Because obviously I do not have a “domain.com/articles/9/article_title” folder…but it’s looking for that.

That works in my sub-directory where I installed it, but when I move it, suddenly it cannot find /articles.

Someone mentioned .htaccess…I don’t see that with my FTP program…

So that must be it. In FTP programs files like .htaccess are often not visible. You can probably change that in the settings. Otherwise your server’s control panel will have a file manager, you can use that.
