Re: wet_quicklink: Quick internal link builder

Hi

I’m not sure who to ask for help in fixing my problem, so to avoid double posting, I’ll start here :) I scanned previous posts, the help page, and the plug-in help but didn’t see an answer. My apologies if I overlooked something.

I installed wet_quicklink (and wet_peex) today. The new menu option did not show in the content-write tab. It occurred to me that perhaps it might be a conflict with zem_event. Disabling zem_event confirmed the conflict (the menu option for wet_quicklink showed up). Reabling zem_event caused wet_quicklink to disappear again.

I am hazzarding a guess that it may be a conflict from both plugins using jQuery. (I’m not well versed on javascript, though). It looks to me that wet_quicklink is pulling jQuery from the jQuery website, while zem_event is pulling from a version located in my textpattern installation.

Is the conflict “fixable”, and if so, what’s the best way to resolve it? Is it as simple as editing wet_quicklink to use the local install of jQuery?

Thanks

Mike

At first glance, there’s nothing wrong with that query. Please post your high-level diagnostics.

I have just tried to install both zem_link and wet_quicklink and experienced no problems with Opera 9.20, Firefox 2 and IE7, all of them on Windows XP. What browser are you using?

Re: wet_quicklink: Quick internal link builder

MySQL: 3.23.49.

DBMS Jurassic Park…

Please grab a SQL entry field (phpMyAdmin or anything else) and issue these three queries:

select * from textpattern where 1=1 order by Posted asc limit 20
select * from textpattern where 1=1 order by Posted asc limit 20 offset 0
select * from textpattern where 1=1 order by Posted asc limit 0,20

Please report back which one succeeds or fails.

I’ve tested using Safari 2.04, Firefox 2.0 (latest update), OmniWeb 5.5.4, and Opera 9.20 on Mac OS 10.4.9 and Textpattern 4.0.4. All have the same results.

Plugin versions are:

wet_quicklink 0.4.2
zem_event 0.34

The conflict I’m having is with zem_event (not zem_link)

Thanks for your help figuring this out.

That’s what I meant to say. Sorry to say, but as I cannot reproduce this conflict I am rather clueless on how to help any further. May someone with a Mac could try to chime in and duplicate this.

Re: wet_quicklink: Quick internal link builder

Robert

Thanks for trying to help. I’ll post in zem_event and see if anyone else is having the problem. Would I “break” anything in your plugin if I change the jQuery url to the one on my server?

Thanks again

Mike

The first and third succeed, the second fails.

Re: wet_quicklink: Quick internal link builder

Try this:

1 In the plugin screen, edit wet_peex.
2. Find this line

			$articles = safe_rows('*', 'textpattern', "$search order by $sort_sql limit $limit offset $offset");

and replace it with

			$articles = safe_rows('*', 'textpattern', "$search order by $sort_sql limit $offset,$limit");

3. Open the URL which revealed the SQL syntax error. You should receive a well-formed XML document.

That solved my problem, everything works great now! Thank you very much!
Und eine tiefe Verneigung vor dem Können! :-)
