insert a basic text link within an article?

Hi I’m new to Textpattern, have about 3 days experience so far. I think it’s very good, one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time.

I was going to use Wordpress but decided I can’t stand it.

I’ve worked out how to do loads of adventurous things with Textpattern and realised I can’t do the equivalent of HelloWorld. Sorry….

Say I’m typing out an article (I’ve already got a load of links defined in the Content->Links tab) and I want to have simple plain text link in the article’s text and reference the link by it’s Id# or some other attribute, but not hardcode it, which really defeats the purpose of using Textpattern in the first place.

What tag should I use?

Thanks for any help or insults.
