Does anyone know of a cheap hosting (max £50 a year) that is fairly reliable and supports Textpattern?

I just emailed freshly pressed to check where their servers are located and they are in the USA. Very quick response, so their service is good!

freshlypressed.net is a bit to expensive and the £20 packaged offered by orchardhosting.com is for only 1GB transfer.

I signed up for Netfirms in the end as it’s a recomended host – http://team.textpattern.com/hosts – but Clean URLs are not working. Will have to find another.

What question can I ask a hosting company to make sure that Clean URLs will work?

I haven’t, but I’d pass because of their /some-system-hosting.htm content (pointless search engine pages). Check out Site5. They’ve got a few deals right now – the $5/mo shared deal, and the MultiSite Plan for $99/yr. I’ve got the MultiSite plan, which is great if you resell space to clients.

I think that they need to support mod rewrite but hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject than me will confirm this for you:)

Never had any problems with meirhosting on their uk servers with several textpattern sites.

Yes – works out of the box! I haven’t had any problems with any of the TXP intalls I’m running.
