r2225: GD support checks in diagnostics and images tabs
r2225 adds new and refined GD support checking.
In the diagnostics tab, it first checks to see if GD is installed. If it is, it lists the version and which image creation formats are supported. Either way you should get a new line in the output results.
In the images tab, the checks include whether GD is installed or not, and if it is, then checks to see if the format of the image in question is supported. This determines whether you see the thumb creation controls or not.
Test it out, see if everything still acts as it should.

This is almost correct except you are missing one extra check. If I don’t have GD installed the diagnostics tab reflects that as it should, there are no thumb creation controls as expected in the image tab. However, when I upload an image I immediately get an error “undefined function imagecreatefromjpg” or the like. Txp is still trying to create a thumbnail automatically on image upload.
I put this if (check_gd($ext)){ around the part that has this comment // Auto-generate a thumbnail using the last settings which is around line 670 in txp_image it seemed to fix it though I’m not sure if that is the best way to do it.
