A simple list of static articles

Hi,

I’m aiming for a list at the bottom of my page like this, inside a <ul></ul> list:

About – Site Map – Content

I don’t really want to set up new sections for each one. I’m sure there’s a number of ways to do this, i was thinking like this:

  1. Set up a new section called ‘static’
  2. Set permalink link mode to /title [just to make them look like sections in the address bar]
  3. Not sure what now!

Am i on the right track?

Seems that you are on the right track:)

It might be just me, but I never liked that mode as there is the danger of duplicate or even badly named urls. I find /id/title to be the most flexible option.

Re: A simple list of static articles

The lack of a simple “static page” feature in Txp is definitely a bummer; I’ve gotten accustomed to it not being a big deal with WordPress.

ExpressionEngine has a popular add-on module (more info here and here) that provides this feature. Perhaps such a thing could be written for Textpattern.

Sticky articles can easily be used as “static”
I find <txp article_custom category="whatever" status="sticky" /> better than having to worry about individual “static” entries.
