How to limit the number of lines of text in an article at home?
Hi
I sometimes have articles that are so long that they take so much space on the screen that other articles goes unnoticed so therefore I was wondering if there is a plugin or any modification that can limit the number of lines in an article that the home page shows…….if you still don’t know what I’m talking about…..take digg for example…you have a list of articles and if the visitor would like to know more the would click on the link to read more….I want that functionality!!
Any help would be great thanks!

That functionality already exists. Use the ‘excerpt’ field for such long articles ;)
See Textbook for an explanation on how to modify your template / article_form to make use of this (example 1).
… or you could use a plugin (textpattern.org provides a nice overview) to automatically create excerpts: rss_auto_excerpt

An URL for the page that displays the problem and a description of what exactly doesn’t seem to be working would make it easier for us to help troubleshoot this problem.
