We Must Abuse the Broadband
I relaunched my photoblog today using Textpattern. Despite using Textpattern for my weblog for the past 2-3 years now, my photoblog remained on Movable Type till last night. There are still a few CSS quirks to fix, but for the most part everything is done.
One thing I need to get working is monthly calender views of the photos, which I had with Movable Type.

The monthly pages used to look like this. I’m sure there must be calender plugin’s for TXP floating around. I haven’t looked much.

OK, so nothing like this exists, out of the box. You could hack up mdp_calendar to present images this way. wet_for_each_image, asy_wondertag and bos_image_display or upm image might be a good place to start looking.
Sorry I couldn’t help more.
What would be really cool, would be an article_custom or image_thumb type tag that would output a visually formatted calendar for a given month, and allow you to populate it with whatever you like (images, links, files, articles).
Anyone brave? Anyone that smart?

I’ll probably do it this week/weekend and post what I get up here somewhere. I think mdp_calendar is probably good enough. I generate img src’s based on the date the post was made, so it’s not as involved as you might think. Thanks for your help.

I’ll look into making them more prominent. I’ll probably make it so if you click on the photo it’ll step backwards also.
