Re: attribute values in TXP tags: html escaped or not?
Indeed. You need to keep in mind we’re working from/on old code, not something that was particularly planned well or had input from more than one person. There is also the commitment to keep 4.0.x as stable and “unchanged” as possible. The only stuff going into 4.0.x is stuff that needs to be there and/or will not cause changes to existing sites (which this change would).

“Not cause changes to existing sites” isn’t entirely correct. If there’s a bug, we should change its behaviour.

I’m referring to causing differences to user’s content. Fiddling with labels would do that.

Textile changes in the last year have caused some of my content to change, but I don’t mind it as long as it’s progress.

Re: attribute values in TXP tags: html escaped or not?
Textile is an unusual case, in that syntax changes aren’t retrospectively applied to old articles. At any rate, almost all of the changes have been bugfixes or changes to undocumented behaviour – I’m not aware of any well known, documented Textile features that used to work, but don’t anymore.

There are documented Textile features? I’m shocked!
