Sorry. Past two weeks have been tight after work. The google code repository has been properly updated. Trunk now has the uncompiled 0.3.1 and a /0.31/ release has been created with both compiled and uncompiled versions of 0.31.

Again for SVN access just drop Matthew or I a note.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

jmk,
I would suggest that you write up some detailed notes about what you mean, you may touch base with Dale Chapman (mrdale) about that too. I know he had some good thinking on customized repeatable events. It can get quite complicated, but I think it’d be a rad feature. It would probably take some serious investment in time or money from or to someone who knows PHP (whether that’s Zem (Alex), or someone else here at the forum). You might even put it in the plugin requests area as an “add on” to this code? That way, it could draw proper attention?

Whaddya think?

Matthew

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

well, i would just want a way to add a date and time to an existing event. so we would actually only need a button “add” next to the date selector field. and of course a way to delete wrong dates.

does that make it a little clearer? :)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

hmm no it gets a bit confusing
again:

Notice: Unable to save event in /mnt/jd1/05/866/00000012/htdocs/blog/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(512) : eval()’d code on line 1568
i dont change anything, it works before and suddendly its not working when i try to save the event.

another thing is that if i wanna save only an event without an article it doesnt save it at all…

not sure the plugin really works as i see

Anyone out there interesting in working on a particluar feature request ?
I’m in desperate need of the having the location drop down changed to a text field.

Zem Wrote

That’s one of the potential features I discussed with Matthew for the next release. It’s still a possibility, as there’s some time remaining in the budget. You might like to discuss it with Matthew. Alternatively, you can contact me directly for custom development work.

Zem,
Thanks for the reply…I wasn’t sure if you were still handling things like that.
I was under the impression the current money collected was for bug fixing, and anything else would be handled by an interested party with the skills. I hope I didn’t offend. : )

Matthew,
Is there any possibilty of the location drop down becoming a text field in the very near future…or is that a request I should take up with Zem directly? I know you’ve got a zillion requests, and some bugs to fix, so I totally understand if it’s not very high on the priority list. Just wanted to get your thoughts on how to move forward.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

I’ve updated the auto_delete branch on Google Code to version 0.31. Given the inherently klunky nature of the approach I don’t intend to develop it any further, it has become obvious as I have worked that there has to be a better way.
I have been working on a similar idea based on Robert Wetzlmayr’s article expiration patch that has much more promise. Any opinions on a plugin that will provide automated article deletion being integrated with the zem_event plugin as well?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

Version .32 is ready. Enjoy.
It should fix a few last things in what we’ve currently been experiencing as bugs.

I believe we have some time left with Alex, and thus I believe the fix for the Location dropdown would be a good fit.

I’ve sent Hakjoon the files and he is likely to get them to Google Code soon.

Have a nice day all.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

Matthew:

In the most recent release, is the Auto completion of fields resolved. It currently my biggest issue with the client I have using it.

Also, not sure if this is the place, but has there been any thought to a hide/reveal on the write tab for the events information. The way it currently is set up, with the fields below the write fields, it makes this tab a little overwhelming to the client. I believe this is especially true because normally (or at least in my cases) the client is creating a lot more articles that do not have events than those that do. Just wondering if it was something being discussed or in production?

Thanks again for the great work from the group.

progre55,
Both issues should be fixed. Let me know if they are not.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

what i dont get is, why do the locations have to be “hardcoded”? the best thing in my opinion would be if that would be similat to the date field where you can either select the date from the list or put it in yourself.

and another thing, would it be at all possible to change the location of the whole thing? we already have a event (categories) tab, why not use that for the whole thing? adding and display of all events, that way it would be clear for every client where s/ he would have to add/edit/find a date (no pun intended :) ).

well, just a thought…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] zem_event [flexible integrated event management]

I was planning on integrating the events category tab into the general categories tab. Not sure why it’s not there to begin with honestly.

I don’t know enough how the events relate to articles to see if it would make sense to be in it’s own tab (which I would also prefer).

Maybe Matthew can provide some background on that.
