Re: What happened last night?

I really have no idea. I’ve yet to experience this problem myself.

When it happens again, please note the date and time. When the forum becomes available again, please post this info. I can then post a TextDrive ticket with the details.

Re: What happened last night?

At 13:34 and 14:04 UTC I got this error (at earlier times as well, but I didn’t write those down):

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Too many connections.

And at 14:11 and 14:25 UTC I could not connect to the website at all.

Looking at the new posts in this forum, between 12:38 and 15:19 nothing new was posted… either because nobody tried or because of forum problems.

Re: What happened last night?

Today at 08:08, 08:45, 09:14, 09:49, 10:06, 10:38 UTC, I got this error:

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/tmp/mysql.sock’ (2).

At the same time textpattern.org/com gave a “database unavailable” error.

Then around 11:32 UTC I kept getting this error:

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to fetch user information.

Re: What happened last night?

There were some Apache/MySQL issues on the box yesterday. We’ll be bringing out a better home for Textpattern soon.

Who’s gonna textdrive you home tonight?

Re: What happened last night?

Today (GMT+1):

18:54
Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Lost connection to MySQL server during query.

Several tries 18:55-19:10
Nothing happening at all, no errors, just no connection.

(then I had to go out so I don’t know how long it lasted)

Re: What happened last night?

I’ve see similar problems on Nelson and Nicola as well. All Textdrive Servers have been affected at some point. Possibly a general Joyant/Textdive architecture problem, while Joyant grows with customers.

I know, Filip, Daniel, etc.. are doing a great Job to help out, but the responsiveness of TXD Servers isn’t that great right now.
I see watchwouse popping up every couple of days this month.

regards, marios

Re: What happened last night?

I believe TxD is in the process of relocating *.textpattern.com. I don’t know if that’s the cause of the current problems.

Re: What happened last night?

Posting here, just because this thread is already open.

Last evening (Friday, 13th!) i received an “Too many connections” error here and Textbook was down too.
The forum is back, but right now Textbook is still unavailable:

Re: What happened last night?

Yeah, it’s quite bad when they’re all down like that. Hopefully that move to the new server will come soon.
