Yes, I read that thread but the category links on the individual articles were working fine in the sections.
It was just on the side menu category listings and on the archive page using article_custom that the category links were not section aware.

localized=“y” (New in 1.0) When set to “y”, it will restrict the plugin to only display categories that are part of the current section.
is that what you’re after?

Yes, looks like a plugin is the way to go, I’ll test it locally and see how it works.
