Please Help.
Hello,
Well, I am very new to Textpattern and i figured that the best way to learn was Hands-On. So did set up everything, and everything went wonderfully. I went to see what the site looked like and it appeared to be fine. I then started to click on the different links.
So here is the problem. When I click on Comment [1] a page that says Error 404 – Not Found loads.
I did not want to bother people for nothing here so I went to the Admin section and I ran a Diagnostic, I figured it may help and this is what I get:
Pre-Flight Check
- .htaccess file is missing
- hompages/………/textpattern/setup/ still exists
- Clean URL test failed
Any help at all with this is greatly apreciated.
Thank you

Re: Please Help.
It just means that you did not upload the .htaccess file which is included in the TXP folder. This could be because your FTP client has this type of file hidden by default, or something else. Anyway, you need to upload it to the TXP folder (root folder) and then you will be fine.

Re: Please Help.
Thank you for answering.
I have checked the TXP folder and I don’t have this file. I re-downloaded the TXP from TXP’s website and check and it didn’t have it included either.
Any idea why? And how I can get this file?
Thank you

Re: Please Help.
Your operative system or the progam you use to extract the files may be hidden the .htaccess file.
You can configure your OS to display hidden files and you may try to extract it with other software, like 7zip
