Re: Thinking about building an e-commerce plugin...

I think I may have (finally) fixed this issue. I was trying to import txp_article.php to use some of its functions but now I’ve taken out that functionality and put it into the plugin.

I’ve published another build (0.0.5.3) with the fix.

Let me know how it works.

Re: Thinking about building an e-commerce plugin...

Whoops sorry. I forgot to make the build for 0.0.6.1 (with the categories update) – should be working now.

Re: Thinking about building an e-commerce plugin...

Hi Levi,

This is really coming along… Looks and behaves good. I have two problems…

  • when I create a new Customer I get this error-

Fatal error: Call to undefined function generate_password() in …/public_html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(523) : eval()’d code on line 1538

  • the dashboard page shifts all of the tab navigation to the left (although this is probably because I’m running the admin facelift.

I’m also curious about what you envision for front-side tags, any teasers?

Great work.

Re: Thinking about building an e-commerce plugin...

Hi Dale,

when I create a new Customer I get this error…

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I’ll put out a fix for that.

[Update:] I just released 0.0.6.2. It should take care of that error.

the dashboard page shifts all of the tab navigation to the left (although this is probably because I’m running the admin facelift.

Yeah – I’m not seeing this in the normal admin interface. I’m curious, is this a custom admin facelift that you made? Or is it a mod that’s publicly available? It looks cool.

I’m also curious about what you envision for front-side tags, any teasers?

I’d be wanting to keep it simple at first. I’d have article tags like <txp:ln_tc_sku/> and <txp:ln_tc_price/>

For the shopping cart I’d have stuff like:

<txp:ln_shopping_cart_small/> for the small cart. And <txp:ln_shopping_cart_detail/> for the detail page. The checkout plugins will be a little more complicated.

Once I get the admin interface all complete, those should come pretty quickly.

Re: Thinking about building an e-commerce plugin...

Thanks Levi,

The interface you saw is Phillip’s excellent and indispensable Admin facelift I install it as a matter of course with new sites, then just “deal with it” when something breaks.

I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to this plugin you are creating. It’s going to be a lifesaver.

Great work.

Wow this looks fantastic so far. How far do we think it is before final production? Would that be expedited if the goal was met?

Thanks! In answer to your question, the admin system is getting quite close. All that remains is to finish the product bulk import functionality. Then we’ll be in beta. The bulk import is a bit tricky though. I’ve got a few more days left on that, at least.

Feel free to donate. I’ll be sure to set aside top-priority development time for every donated dollar.
