Importing from WP to Textpattern: "2 categories per post limit" issue

I’m trying to import my blog from WordPress to Textpattern, using the feature “Import” in “Admin->Import”.
I have a big problem:

all the posts, comments and categories were imported successfully, but every post is “related” just to (up to) 2 categories (TXP supports just 2 categories per post).
Some posts from my WP installation have more than 2 categories.

I’ve tried to install rss_unlimited_categories and, then, import all my posts from WP, but it’ don’t works.

Any suggestions?

The importer doesn’t know about rss_unlimited_categories. It’ll only import the first two. You’ll need to manually add the extras, or modify the importer code to take advantage of rss_unlimited_categories.

Unfortunately, that’s how the Importer works, and Rob’s plugin has no affect on the core Import mechanism.

You would need to install Rob’s plugin, and create all your categories. Next Import all your posts. Then you’d have to add the other categories to your posts by hand.
