... link to a section?

I’d like to know how to make a textpattern tag to link to a particular section.

(I’m sure this is a very simple question, and that the obvious answer has eluded me in the clouds of good information out there already. I have looked around already. Apologies. Theres piles of good information available, but the formidable quantity of it leaves me wondering where to start. I’ve seen sample section tags, but I don’t quiet understand their format. In future, where should I look in order to find a simple answer like this? )
