Bunch of code or a bunch of gibberish with “plugin = …” ?
If it’s a bunch of gibberish you need to save the resulting txt file (or on Caged’s site, just right-click “Save Target As…”) and install that via TXP’s administration console. If it’s lots of code (aka, more than 4 lines) then something seems to be wrong with your computer or your computers interaction with Caged’s server, because it is working just fine for me.
Caged, did you ever get my email I sent you ( from a @uiowa.edu address?).

Greenrift, Yeah I got your email, I sent a reply as well, did you get it ?
You actually hacked v.10 of the plugin. I played with it a bit on my test site and it’s some great changes, I just have to get the time and motivation to try and work it in and get a new release out. I want to try and fix it where it will work with clean and dirty urls as well. I’ve been disecting TP here latley and I’m trying to decide the best way to approach it.

Can I include a gallery inside of an article? If not, where should I put my galleries?

Yes, you can include it inside an article, but It would be best inside a section I would presume.

The thumbnail display works fine. However, the full image display doesn’t work for me. It opens a new page,
I think I know what the problem is, but have no clue how to fix it. I compared your gallery to Dean’s txp:thumbnail tag. When I hover over a thumbnail that uses Dean’s tag, it will give this as destination in the status bar:
http://blog-cafe.com/images/29.jpg
That opens up in a popup.
When hovering over a thumbnail using your Gallery plugin, the destination shows as:
http://blog-cafe.com/index.php/?c=E3_2002_Babes&p=29
What do I need to edit in order to have it go for the first URI mentioned?

Sorry Benoit, I haven’t had the time to look at it yet. I never tested it with the popup feature. Greenrift implemented some changes to v.10 which I think will fix this, not sure.
I’ll try to look at it soon and get it working with the popup. Have you tried it without the popup feature to see if it works for you?Cheers -Justin

I did try it as installed and it opens up a new page, even if I put the display tag in the current page.
It’s not so much having the popup that I want as having the image display on the same page as the thumbnails are located.
You can check out what I mean on my test site: http://blog-cafe.com
You’ll see 3 articles, testing 3 ways to display images, including yours.

Thats strange, Initially I thought it might have been because the gallery was on the root of your website, but I tested that and had no problems, then I thought it might be due to the extra / in the url was fooling Apache into thinking that you wanted to go to a directory, but I removed the slash and still it reloaded another page.
I’m gonna plug away at it tonight and see if I can’t remedy the issues you’ve clearly got with it. I think i’ll create my own custom tag for displaying the images instead of using TP’s built in image_display. Just some final reassurance, your using the gallery like:<code>
//Option 1
<txp:cgd_dynagallery cat=“Digital Art” usethumbs=“1” rows=“4” />
//Option 2
<txp:cgd_dynagallery cat=“Photography” usethumbs=“1” wraptag=“div” />
//Must Have to display full size image <txp:image_display />
</code>

Re: [archived] cgd_dynagallery: Dynamic Gallery v0.1 Released
Hey Caged, would it be possible to add a tag to output image captions in the next update. I tried, but this code is far beyond my meager PHP skills.
Or better yet, if someone see’s this and knows of a tag in TP 1.19 that does this, let me know. But from what I gather, no such option has been enabled as of yet.
Thanks,
Austin

Quit Following me :p . Yeah, when I create the custom tag for displaying I’m gonna add the captions and also the ability for you to choose a popup or not.
Cheers

Yeah, I’m using option 1, with the rows. I might switch to the div one later, once I get things ironed out. :)
What puzzles me is this: using < txp:image_display / > shouldn’t launch a new page, but it does.
