Blue State Digital
Soo…….there’s this company called Blue State Digital. They are behind the New Barack Obama website among other things.
According to some of their clients (read comments here: techcrunch.com/2007/02/11/mybarackobama-who-built-this/) they use textpattern to help deliver the political sites they do.

Ha Walker, you should read TXP Mag … this was reported longt time ago already :)
Blue State does pretty nice sites although their own looks boring.
