Using custom_fields on images?

Hello everybody,

I have a gallery based on images, not on articles. Is there anyway I can add custom_fields to my images like I can to articles? I could not find any documentation on this subject. Is that my bad? Should I use articles for galleries or is it just a lack of textpattern’s way of handling images?

Thanks in advance, Adnan

No, there isn’t. You can, as you mention, use articles, and that does offer a lot more possibilities; articles have custom fields, “article images”, are searchable, easy to create archives of, etc.

Re: Using custom_fields on images?

But how do you manage an image gallery? I’m making a large image gallery and luckily I can import everything fast with fpx_image_import and put them in the right category. Putting images in hand by hand is a hell of a job. So there’s no plugin to use custom fields on images? Too bad textpattern doesn’t handle images like articles, that would be a great feature. Isn’t there another solution, for example a plugin that automatically edites my images to articles?

Thanks for the help,
Adnan

I don’t think either exists, though they are possible.

Re: Using custom_fields on images?

Okay thanks for the info :). I think it would be a great step ahead for textpattern if images where handled like articles.. hope in the future, would make things a lot easier.
