exceptional favor to ask
Hello all. This isn’t my kind, but I really need to have two small websites IE7-proved, and my windowsXP-computer just crashed, one site is live, the other one will be tomorrow, and I’m hearing they have IE7 issues (possibly margin/padding related). I have no alternative but to kindly and exceptionally ask if anyone of this lovely community minds having look.
Many many thanks, and i’ll return the favor in any possible way.

Re: exceptional favor to ask
I’ve had a look at it ( IE7 and Safari)
Looks pretty much the same on both platforms.
The only Issue on IE, is that the transparent background tooltip images are not showin up there.
But I can see, there is an Issue in general with the main menu ( The font size is too small on both platforms, may be you want to enlarge that one a tad)
Also, whjen I trigger the Accordeon, the tooltip will stick on the expanded division and hang around there obsuring the view, so you might want to shange that to go away through the onclick event handler.

Re: exceptional favor to ask
Many thanks Marios ! I slightly increased the font-size, which also solves a problem i had in IE6. About the tooltip: isn’t IE7 supposed to support alpha-transparent pngs? I know i still have to come up with something for IE6…
To be very specific, i’ve been told the logo doesn’t align on the horizontal bar in IE7 on page 1, and that the left column isn’t aligned to the top on page 2. Can anyone confirm this?

Re: exceptional favor to ask
I can not see any difference for the logo in IE7.
The second link that you provide id not an existant URL though.
IE7 has Alpha Channel Support for 24bit png’s, something else is causing this:
I would do this:
- Set up a test page with only the elements, that are used ( without txp)
- moove all the scripts aout of the way, that aren’t used ( like the slimbox for example)
- Try to switch to a strict DocType to test the tooltips.

Re: exceptional favor to ask
Page 1 looks allright, on page 2 indeed the left column starts under the right column. Also the alignment of the header looks different in IE7. Screenshots: page 1, page 2, page 1 tooltip.

Re: exceptional favor to ask
oh sorry i made a typo in the second url. Fixed now.
And damn, thx Els, page 2 is totally fucked up indeed. I have slimmed the paragaph’s width – I guess they were overlapping. And I’ve come to notice a lot of browser-defined margins and paddings are acting here, so I did the joker trick (*).
And page 1 doesn’t look as horrible as I’ve been told. Actually hasn’t changed at all. And concerning the png, i used a 32bit, that’s probably the problem. I will change that. All the rest is javascript i still have to fix. And Marios: thx for the tips, it could indeed be that the url showing is a strict doctype thing. I’m going to check that.
Ok, thanks folks! You’ve been of great help. I owe you one. Do please tell me if something’s still disfunctioning though :)
