Confusing Previous / Next articles

I’m confused. I was setting simple links to previous and next articles, and the tag builder gave me these:

<txp:link_to_prev showalways=“y” />
<txp:link_to_next showalways=“y” />

These are single tags, so I wondered how I was gonna specify the actual text for the links. I thought it would be something like ‘value=“previous”’.

I checked the Textbook and it says those are container tags (ex: http://textbook.textpattern.net/wiki/index.php?title=Txp:link_to_prev).

It also provides a different formatting for the showalways attribute: ‘showalways=“1”’.

So, how do I set it up correctly? I could use the tags as container tags (haven’t tried yet), but I’d like to avoid using an about-to-deprecated approach. I’m using 4.0.4 by the way. I just want to set it so it says ‘previous’ and ‘next’.

Re: Confusing Previous / Next articles

<txp:link_to_prev showalways=“1”>Previous</txp:link_to_prev>
<txp:link_to_next showalways=“1”>Next</txp:link_to_next>

The tag layout above should work as described in Textbook, using 1 rather than y is correct for consistency
and tags (and most tagbuilders) will work that way in the future. It may me the tagbuilder for this isn’t quite
caught up yet.

Ok, I thought it was the Textbook that was out of date and lacked correct documentation on the “new” way of doing things on 4.0.4.

Thanks.

Yes, this has already been fixed in svn.
